Joint History Walk/Talk in Donaghadee

Event type: Outing
Date: 3rd July 2025
Time: 10:30 am
Group: Walking - Ramblers

We are joining the Local History Group for a guided walk in Donaghadee, courtesy of their Convenor, Elizabeth McKeown.

We meet at the Commons carpark - beside the Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat - so that is drive right down to the harbour and turn right for half a mile - plenty of parking - free. Toilets are nearby.
Dr Tom Neill will give us a walking tour of the town - includes their Camera Obscura on the Moat. He finishes back at the carpark by 12.45pm. I have suggested a £5 cash donation for Donaghadee community projects.
At this stage some people may wish to talk to the SS Kelly volunteer guides - they are very proud of the part played by SS Kelly in 1953 when Princess Victoria sank.
There are picnic tables beside the water and a variety of local cafes and restaurants.
