For those of you who may well be unaware of this game, it is said to be the fastest growing sport in the world.

We only started the group in early November 2023 when we had 3 sessions in which people could try out the game with a coach in attendance to offer advice, encouragement, and an explanation of the rules. These were held at three separate sports centres at differing times in an attempt to allow as many as possible to give it a go. There was huge interest shown and over 50 turned up over the three days.

Stemming from these sessions, it was obvious that there was sufficient interest to get regular sessions up and going. So, we have now started 2 weekly sessions. The times for these have changed due to high demand and are now as follows: -

1. Shankill Leisure Centre at 11am every Monday for a 2 hour session (starting 17/3/25) which people can drop in and out of as they please (cost £2)

2. Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre at 10am every Friday for an hour (cost £2) - for the summer (until end of August) this session will be at the earlier time of 8:30am

(note to check back here regularly, as cancellations/changes to sessions will be posted at the bottom of this page)

These sessions are already well attended with approximately 24 plus turning up at Shankill every week and a completely different 20 or so attending Lisnasharragh. We now (Sep 25) have an ever-expanding cohort of about 60 players between the 2 sessions, some of which are very regular with others being more occasional. To all others I cannot recommend the game highly enough, and we would welcome any member to turn up at either of these sessions and give it a go.

We employed a coach, for the first 6 months or so, but we have now graduated to go it alone (with plenty of experienced players now more than willing to bring beginners along). In addition we had great help from Maurice Mackie at our Shankill sessions who made a huge difference in improving our beginners. Maurice no longer attends our sessions regularly, but has run a number of development courses/lessons at various locations for us which are extremely popular and successful, and has promised to drop in occasionally, and will be more than welcome.

We took some all-action photos to brighten up the page, which, obviously, everyone was very keen on!! Additionally, some festive photos from our December 2025 Lisnasharragh Christmas lunch are included.
