The FIRST walk of the new year 2025 for NTM shall be on Thursday 2ndJanuary in Tollymore Forest Park.
Please meet in the Main Car Park (entrance fee £5 per car) and be ready for the walk to begin at 1030h. You may wish to consider ‘car-share’ to reduce costs.
Our walk shall take in the Shimna River path with many water features and bridges. We shall also travel over the Sprinkwee River, while always on a bridge.!
The walk shall be initially upon riverside paths then some challenging climbs, in the main, on wide forestry paths, some uneven surfaces, so please bring your boots, poles, suitable warm waterproof clothing. Banana break at or around Parnell’s Bridge. Lunch planned at approx. 1oc or SO around Hore’s Bridge.
Estimated time – 3.5 hours; distance just over 6 miles. Shorter options available before and after we stop for lunch break at around 1oc.
We hope you will join us later for tea /coffee in Niki’s Kitchen Café, Donard Carpark (we plan to be there before 3pm; closing at around 4pm).
