Meet at Donard Car Park, Newcastle, for a 9.30 am start.

Follow Glen River up to the Ice House, where we turn right and walk through the forest towards Slievenamaddy.

Walk up and around Slievenamaddy and ascend Shan Slieve to the summit cairn. We then head to the summit of Slieve Commedagh for our lunch stop. After lunch we descend Slieve Commedagh to join the Glen River path and then on down to the Car Park, comfortably back by 3pm. Distance: Approx 9 km.
