NTM 07/08/2025 -Slievenaglogh/ Hares gap 

Please assemble at 10:15am in the Cecil Newman Carpark to start the walk at 1030.

Directions:Proceed through Bryansford towards Hilltown, passing the Tollymore Outdoor Centre. At a cream-coloured bungalow, take the next left, which is signposted for the Mourne Scenic Route/Meelmore Lodge. The carpark is on the left after crossing a narrow bridge.

Our route will follow the Trassey Track past the Sheepfold, then turn left at Ford Crossing and ascend the incline to the first stile on the Mourne Wall. From there, participants may either proceed left to the Slievenaglogh summit or, if opting out of the summit, descend directly to Hares Gap for lunch.

Participants are advised to bring appropriate hiking boots, poles, a packed lunch, and suitable wet weather gear. The total ascent is 586 metres, covering approximately five miles over four and a half hours.
