We will commence our walk from the Ott Mountain car park, following the Ott track up to the Mourne wall between Slieve Loughshannagh and Carn Mountain. Upon crossing the wall, we will descend towards Doan, navigating the peat bog before ascending to the summit for lunch (please note that some slight scrambling will be involved).

Our return journey will follow the same route; however, if the weather is particularly warm, we may divert to Lough Shannagh for a brief paddle. Although this walk is relatively short (less than 4 km), please be aware that ground conditions can be challenging. Therefore, boots and poles are essential. Please bring a packed lunch, as the location offers spectacular views.

Directions:

Travel through Bryansford towards Hilltown, then turn left onto Slievenaman Road (signposted Kilkeel, with a brown sign for Gorse Hill Farm and Rock Amenity Area). Continue past Fofanny Dam, and the car park will be on your right further up the hill.
