(Click on heading to see details). The Last but one walk this year for NTM shall be on Thursday 7^thNovember 2024 to Castlewellan Forest Park.

Please all meet in the Main Car Park (entrance fee £5 per car) and be ready for the walk to begin at 1030.  Facilities available.

Our walk shall include views of the Mourne mountain range, Leitrim, Slieve Croob , Top of Slievenaslat, Mitchell’s Lake to finally pass by the Castlewellan Castle / Conference Centre.

The walk shall be on wide forestry paths, uneven surfaces, to include some challenging climbs so please bring your boots, poles, suitable warm waterproof clothing. 

Banana break at Moorish Tower.  Lunch planned for the top of Slievenaslat at approx. 1pm . 

We hope to have Afternoon tea  at Nel’s in Main Street Castlewellan (we plan to be there before 3pm, closing at 3.30pm.

Estimated time – 4 hours; distance just over 6 miles.
